Todd S. Handelman represents many public and private employers. In addition to specializing in tort defense for both public and private entities, he is well known for his statewide workers' compensation practice, which is successful in due to his vigorous defense strategies and extensive experience. Todd has successfully defended many employers in significant workers’ compensation cases, including the City of Albany before the Georgia Supreme Court in the landmark case of Abernathy v. City of Albany, 269 Ga. 88 (1998), which protects employers and their insurers from liability for a purely psychological work injury. In addition, Mr. Handelman has handled complex subrogation claims for both public and private organizations, including Fortune 100 companies.
Todd was born in Chicago, Illinois. He is a 1986 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Illinois where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Todd earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Georgia in 1989. Admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1989, Todd is also admitted to the U. S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Dougherty Circuit Bar Association and is also active in the Georgia Workers’ Compensation Association.
Eric Nestale joined the firm in August 2013 and was admitted to the Georgia Bar the same year. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Nestale gained valuable experience while working for the Appellate Division of the State Board of Workers' Compensation where he reviewed pending matters, researched unique legal topics, and prepared overviews for the judges and staff.
Since joining the firm, Mr. Nestale has been handling and litigating cases for employers/insurers, both big and small, all over the State of Georgia over the last five years. He uses his experience to develop strategies and offer solutions that will not only assist in the defense of workers' compensation claims but also assist clients in avoiding future obstacles.
In addition to his experience handling and litigating claims, Mr. Nestale has hosted multiple seminars around the State instructing and assisting employers/insurers with their human resources department and workers' compensation programs.
Amanda is licensed in both Georgia and Florida. After briefly representing the State of Florida, Amanda returned to her home state and became a member of the Georgia bar in 2009. Amanda primarily represents employers and insurance companies against workers' compensation claims. She also represents disabled adults and children through the process of obtaining Social Security benefits. Amanda is a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, the State Bar of Georgia, the State Bar of Florida, Dougherty Circuit Bar Association, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, and the Georgia Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Junior League of Albany, Georgia, Inc., and served her final active year as the League President. She is a graduate of Leadership Lee, and a recipient of Southwest Georgia’s Top Forty under Forty.
